Control Panels

This is the Hosting Control Panel page of Web Hosting Reviews and News. Control panels provide interface that you see when accessing a web hosting service provider, i.e. the GUI. A control panel used in web hosting typically will provide the interface access to the user or webmaster account, FTP access, SQL database access and control, domain set up and imports, scripting tools, bandwidth consumption records and other features required for a webmaster to manage websites.

Among the wider known control panels used are the CPANEL control panel, Plesk and H-Space. The most popular is the CPanel control panel, which has become popular for its ease of use and wide array of features. Some web hosting providers have their own proprietary Control Panel. The VDeck control panel originally was developed with iPowerWeb, and is used in their network of web hosting services. Another example is Go Daddy hosting, which provides a proprietary user interface. A drawback of a proprietary interface, is that fewer web hosts use it meaning a learning curve typically is required, although it may be a lower cost for the web hosting provider, leading to lower end user prices.
